Zephyrhills experienced 110 mph winds and suffered 9 tornadoes causing untold damage in this thriving community. The roof of the Neighborhood Care Center was badly damaged, causing further damage along the entire East wall to our kitchenette and dining area, food pantry, office and storage areas. The center also lost all dry food and perishables from refrigeration due to water intrusion and loss of power.

The Neighborhood Care Center is a community food, clothing, household items and financial help ministry supported by First Baptist Church Zephyrhills. Though started by our church this ministry is truly a cooperative ministry involving many volunteers and churches throughout Zephyrhills.

This ministry has been God's hands to those in need for over 30 years, making a difference for families in crisis. Before Milton, the center provided service to over 1,200 needy and homeless persons in the Zephyrhills community annually. However now, the Center is operating in reduced circumstances out of temporary, shared facilities generously offered by First Baptist Church Zephyrhills in their administrative offices and education building. We cannot offer full services here, but are providing food, clothing and monetary services two days per week until we can get our Neighborhood Care Center repaired.

We desperately need your generous support to help us meet the $80,000 goal to repair the roof and interior spaces back to pre-Milton condition. As a charitable business the Neighborhood Care Center is not eligible for FEMA funding and insurance funds are not available for repairs so we must rely on donations to get back to operating condition. So please open your hearts and give generously so we can get back to fully assisting the homeless and needy in the Zephyrhills community!
